Hello There! Nicholas and I have been looking at houses to buy in Grand Rapids for almost two years now. Well, we finally own our first home! The market in GR is absolutely insane and I can’t believe we finally got one. I’ve been drawn to mid century desing long before I even knew what it was. Some of the lamps I own I’ve had since I was 16. Some of my favorite shows growing up were I dream of Jeanie and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I’m also a photographer (duh) and natural light is basically my love language so it is very obvious I was in love with homes built in the early 60’s. You guys, we literally moved into my dream home. It was built in 1955 by one of the original creators of the parade of homes. It needs allot of work to bring it back to its original glory but I specifically wanted a house that we could renovate over time so I could pick out things to my liking (me, picky? NEVER). We’ve been moved in for about two weeks, just in time for our first Christmas. These photos were taken on Christmas Eve when we (Nicholas) lit our first fire. Did I mention dream house?
We decided against a TV in the living room for now. So far we love that the focal point of the room isn’t focused around a television. The first thing we did when we got the keys was tear the carpet out and refinish the hardwood floors in the living room. Can we all agree that carpet is not our favorite? That is all for now. We’ve already made changes since I took these photos… Once we get our christmas decor down I’ll do a full room tour
I recently traveled to Sweden and photographed this sweet family. Day in the life sessions are so perfect for families. I am able to capture the little ones in their home environment which makes them much more comfortable and they are able to let their personalities come out! This is my third time to Sweden, and I’m so happy I finally got to do a photoshoot while I was there with my family. I have plans to write a post including my traveling tips for kids! But that is for another day :).
This stunning winter wedding at The Basilica of St. Adalbert and The Goei Center commences my 2017 wedding season. Carolyn, I’m so thankful to have photographed you and Kyle’s beatiful day, it was so perfect to end the year on such a high note. Every Bride needs a classic Bridal Portrait. Hello GORGEOUS!Yes, I love the black and white blurry photos too. I think this one deserves a frame…I asked my amazing second photographer Lindsay to prompt the wedding party. She is always killing her wedding party photos. One of the perks of adding a second photographer to your package is getting to have an extra set of ideas floating around all day. I’m a fan :).
