This stunning winter wedding at The Basilica of St. Adalbert and The Goei Center commences my 2017 wedding season. Carolyn, I’m so thankful to have photographed you and Kyle’s beatiful day, it was so perfect to end the year on such a high note. Every Bride needs a classic Bridal Portrait. Hello GORGEOUS!Yes, I love the black and white blurry photos too. I think this one deserves a frame…I asked my amazing second photographer Lindsay to prompt the wedding party. She is always killing her wedding party photos. One of the perks of adding a second photographer to your package is getting to have an extra set of ideas floating around all day. I’m a fan :).
Conner and I met in the first month of our freshman year at Grand Valley State University. A friend from my dorm asked if I wanted to go play volleyball with some friends she had gone to high school with. Little did I know, I would be meeting the man I was going to marry. After a year of friendship and flirting, Conner asked me to be his girlfriend after a rainy Cedar Point trip with friends.
I told Megan that my two best friends were coming in from out of town and we were going to meet them downtown Grand Rapids. We parked our car and started walking to their “hotel”. Our path took us across the blue bridge and thats where I popped the question! Little did she know that I planned for all our our best friends and family to wait on the other side of the bridge. They all walked out to congratulate!
My favorite memory from the proposal was that Conner had our close friend super disguised and ready to take photos while he was proposing. Honestly, when we were about to walk past him, I was a little nervous that he was staring at us. I was so surprised when everything was said and done to turn around and see all of our close friends and family walking towards us!
Megan: I love that Conner can make me laugh – even after the longest, most stressful day. He is so confident in who he is and inspires me to be the best possible version of myself. I especially love that he relates with my dorky obsession with Harry Potter…and listens to the audiobooks (on repeat) with me in the car! I’m happy knowing that at the end of the day, I can always count on him to be there for me!
Conner: The thing I love most about Megan is that she is my best friend. I know that this is huge cliche for married couples, but she truly is. There is nothing I wouldn’t tell her or share with her. She is always willing to tell me how it is and has helped me get through the hardest times in my life. There is nobody else I would want to spend the rest of my life with than my best friend.
