Elise & Daniel had their wedding and reception at the church that Elise grew up at. It was so sweet to have everything at such a sentimental place. These two were glowing all day. So. many. smiles. Elise’s Father passed away a few years ago and as the sun was going down we walked over to lay flowers at his grave. It was such a special day.
When we got engaged our main goals for our wedding were: have a short but meaningful ceremony, throw a really fun party and make it memorable. When we found this venue we knew we would nail the memorable part and the rest was up to us. Our main focus was to make sure our guests had a fabulous time and could let loose. We had the time of our lives and we hope our friends and family did too.
We still haven’t decided! We are planning to take a late honeymoon in the spring and it will be somewhere warm and beachy! We did however spend the week after the wedding in a house on Lake Michigan with Davis’s family and it was just what we needed.
Walking down the aisle is a moment for each of us that will never be forgotten because that is when it all became real. All years of dating, months of wedding planning, hard work and stress lead us to that very moment and the ceremony could not have been more magical.
When Lis’s dad, Jack, stepped on her veil and almost pulled her to the ground with it on the way to his seat at the ceremony. Thankfully it was very secure in her hair and everyone recovered quickly. It was a classic dad move and lightened the mood for everyone.
We would have had our ceremony start at least an hour earlier so we had more time to dance and party with our friends because once you’re on the dance floor that’s when time starts to fly by. We also would have hired more bartenders so our guests could spend less time in line at the bar.
